Joel M. v. FCA US LLC

Sacramento County

Joel M. was a resident of Mather, California that encountered severe issues with the 2013 Dodge Durango that he purchased.  The Durango suffered from electrical issues, blinking lights, safety recalls, and engine issues. At one point, Joel M. could no longer even rely on his vehicle to reliably get him to and from work, because it wouldn’t always start in the mornings.  Joel M. first tried to resolve his issues directly with Chrysler; but they refused to do right by their customer. Our attorneys represented in Sacramento County Superior Court against FCA US LLC. A short time later, we were able to settle Joel M.’s case for a substantial amount of money that included the return of all of the monies he paid for the troubled Dodge Durango, and a significant civil penalty. Chrysler also paid 100% of Joel M.’s attorney’s fees and costs.

Jaime F. v. BMW North America

Los Angeles County

Our client, Jaime F., a Huntington Park resident, purchased a used 2012 BMW 3 Series in 2015 from Nick Alexander Imports.  Jaime’s “Ultimate Driving Machine” was labeled, “Certified Pre-Owned,” which led Jaime F. think that he was purchasing a reliable vehicle.  Unfortunately, what Jaime F. didn’t know that the vehicle suffered a long series of warranty issues even prior to his ownership of the BMW.  Once he bought the BMW 3 Series, things went from bad to worse and almost immediately the engine started leaking oil, smoking, and emitting a burning smell.  He asked BMW to do the right thing and buy his car back and they suggested that he go pound sand, instead. Our attorneys represented him against BMW in Los Angeles County Superior Court, and were able to achieve a significant settlement for Jaime F.  With the assistance of our attorneys, Jaime F. achieved the return of all the monies that he paid for his vehicle, payment of all of his attorney’s fees and costs, and payment of a significant civil penalty, as well.

Miguel R. v. FCA US LLC

Alameda County

We represented Miguel R., a resident of Alameda County, California in his claims against Chrysler arising from his purchase of a used 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee.  Miguel purchased the SUV, hoping to take it on trips and use it for adventures, not realizing that even before he purchased it the vehicle suffered a series of electrical issues and recalls.  Shortly after his purchase of the vehicle, the Grand Cherokee suffered a series of electrical and engine issues and needed even more recalls. Later, the vehicle suffered engine failures and ultimately had to be traded in by Miguel for another Jeep Grand Cherokee.  Even though he no longer owned the vehicle, we were able to get Miguel R. all of his money back, plus a civil penalty equal to approximately double what he paid for the vehicle. Our services came at no cost to Miguel R. – like all of our other clients, the automaker paid Miguel’s legal bills.

Rainier and Faye R. v. FCA US LLC

San Diego County

We represented Rainier and Faye R., a very nice couple from Chula Vista, California and their claims against Chrysler arising from the 2011 Dodge Durango, which they purchased back in 2012.  They hoped to enjoy this sports utility vehicle for years, and take it on long family trips. Instead, the vehicle presented them with numerous defects and gave them some serious headaches. The Dodge’s issues started out with a series of problems with the interior components, such as the navigation system, center console, and sun visor.  From there Rainier and Faye’s vehicle issues got much worse when they encountered engine issues, such as burning odors, engine stalls, no starts, and check engine lights. The vehicle also exhibited transmission shifting issues such as slipping and missed shifts. We were pleased to represent this family in their claim against Chrysler in San Diego Superior Court.  Ultimately, Rainier and Faye R. were able to achieve a substantial settlement, which included the return of all the monies that they paid for the vehicle and much more. Naturally, Chrysler also paid all of our bills and reimbursed all of their costs.

Sonja R. v. Ford Motor Company

Los Angeles County

We represented Sonja R. with respect to the problems she encountered after leasing a 2015 Ford Edge.  She had high hopes that the vehicle would give her years of reliable service, but was disappointed when as early as 5,000 miles after leasing the Edge she already started experiencing serious engine issues.  Her vehicle would stall, jolt, and shudder when accelerating. Sonja tried to resolve the issues herself with Ford, but her efforts were rebuffed. After our attorneys stepped in to assist, Sonja was able to achieve a substantial settlement against Ford Motor Company that included the return of all of her lease payments, and a civil penalty equal to roughly two times what she paid to lease the vehicle.  Of course, our friends in Detroit also paid for all of her attorney’s fees and costs.
